I got this app because it was suggested after my previous YouTube player was taken down, and this has proven in most ways to be a worthy successor. its very simple to use, easy to understand and aside from a couple of instances of crashing when I try to open it, theres been absolutely no issue with it until now. dont get me wrong. I love this app... but its not 5 star material just yet. there are two things Id like to address, first and foremost being a recent bug; after the most recent update (at the time that Im writing this), the app no longer seems to allow playing videos in the background. this is problematic because Im the kind of person who enjoys having a little ambience while scrolling through Facebook, looking up online references to subjects similar to what the video talks about, with out having to restart the video entirely. my second gripe is the missing ability to "cache" videos that I can then play offline if Im going to be away from Wi-Fi. I understand that YouTube has a strict no downloading policy, but thats not what caching is, not exactly. I havent taken the video right off of YouTube so no one else can watch it. I just want to be able to watch my favorite videos without needing a Wi-Fi connection all the time, since 8 times out of 10, Im nowhere near a Wi-Fi connection. its not a piracy, its a lost convenience.
